Durrow Scarecrow Festival 2017.
Featuring SenseAbility – The outright winners at the Laois Student Enterprise Programme.
We are thrilled to announce that SenseAbility will attend the Durrow Scarecrow Festival 2017. SenseAbility is an award winning mini-company, established by four transition-year Students from Heywood C.S. They have recently been crowned the winners of the Student Enterprise Programme for Laois schools. SenseAbility has been endorsed by Alison Cowzer of Dragon’s Den, who said that SenseAbility have done an outstanding job in producing an innovative and practical product in response to a real need. “Their product – a Therapeutic Comfort aid in the form of Sensory or ‘fidget’ Blankets for those diagnosed with Alzheimers and Autism is in response to an issue that is affecting every community in Ireland.”
The blankets help enhance long term memory while also maintaining motor skills through tactile stimulation.
They are with us for two days over the festival selling their sensibility blankets. The First Sunday: 30th July, and again on Thursday 3rd August.
